Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Sales Manager to lead and develop their sales function while actively contributing to business growth through direct sales activity.


This role combines leadership, sales performance management, and business development, making it ideal for a commercially focused professional who thrives on achieving targets, developing high-performing teams, and building strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Sales Team, ensuring clear direction, accountability, and performance standards.
  • Set individual sales targets and KPIs, monitor performance, and proactively address performance gaps.
  • Coach and support team members in pipeline management, client engagement, negotiations, and deal closure.
  • Foster a high-performance culture built on ownership, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for sales-related challenges and client concerns.

Sales Performance & Revenue Generation

  • Manage and achieve an individual sales quota while supporting overall team targets.
  • Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, partnerships, and outbound sales activity.
  • Build and manage a strong personal sales pipeline, ensuring opportunities are progressed effectively.
  • Lead by example in client relationship management, negotiation, and closing high-value opportunities.
  • Take ownership of strategic and key accounts where required.

Business Development

  • Drive business development initiatives across target sectors and markets.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships, referral channels, and growth opportunities.
  • Ensure consistent lead generation activity across the sales team.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing to maximise campaign effectiveness and lead conversion.

Sales Operations & Pipeline Management

  • Oversee the sales pipeline to ensure visibility, accuracy, and progression of opportunities.
  • Ensure all sales activities, quotations, and opportunities are accurately maintained within CRM systems.
  • Review quotations and proposals to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with company standards.
  • Monitor follow-up activities and ensure timely progression of sales opportunities.
  • Oversee contract amendments and ensure agreements are appropriately documented and aligned with client expectations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with operational and delivery teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and service delivery.
  • Align sales commitments with operational capabilities and business objectives.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and interdepartmental collaboration.

Performance Reporting & Analysis

  • Monitor team and individual performance against revenue targets and KPIs.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement within the sales process.
  • Drive initiatives to improve conversion rates and sales cycle efficiency.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Sales Management or Senior Sales position.
  • Demonstrated success in leading sales teams while maintaining strong individual sales performance.
  • Strong background in B2B sales, ideally within an IT services, technology, or technical environment.
  • Experience working with CRM and sales management systems.
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
