Job Description:

Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Payroll & HR Administrator to join their HR team and take ownership of the monthly payroll process. Forming an integral part of the HR function, the successful candidate will also support the day-to-day HR and administrative operations of the business.

This role is ideal for an individual who is able to work independently, demonstrates a high level of integrity and confidentiality, and is comfortable managing a significant administrative workload with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of the collection and processing of employee payroll-related data, including the creation and maintenance of employee system profiles.
  • Processing monthly payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Maintaining and updating payroll and employee records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Monitoring the time and attendance system and ensuring completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Assisting with monthly and year-end FSS documentation and payroll-related reporting.
  • Supporting the HR team with work permit renewals and related administration.
  • Actively contributing to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure efficient Payroll and HR operations.

Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in payroll processing.
  • Strong understanding of payroll procedures, labour laws, payroll tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks and meet deadlines independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Proactive, reliable, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and payroll/HR systems.
  • Fluency in both Maltese and English would be considered an asset.
