Job Description:

Our client is looking to recruit a Spanish speaking HR Coordinator - Engineering to join their Human Resources function and provide dedicated HR support to the Engineering department.

Forming part of the wider HR team, the successful candidate will act as the main point of contact for employees and management within the Engineering department on matters relating to recruitment, HR administration, employee relations, learning and development, performance management, and general HR support.

The role requires someone who can build strong relationships across the organisation while ensuring that HR processes, policies and procedures are consistently and effectively applied.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the recruitment process for approved internal and external vacancies, including:
    • Ensuring job descriptions are kept up to date in consultation with departmental management.
    • Screening CVs and job applications.
    • Coordinating and scheduling interviews with hiring managers.
    • Participating in candidate interviews where required.
    • Supporting the onboarding and integration of new employees.
    • Preparing recruitment reports and documentation as required.
    • Maintaining strong communication with candidates throughout the selection process.
    • Coordinating the collection of employment documentation, including documentation required for third-country nationals.
    • Coordinating employee inductions and the overall onboarding process.
  • Manage day-to-day HR administration, including employee engagements and terminations, work permit applications and renewals, identification documentation, sick leave administration and workplace injury-related processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal HR policies and procedures, applicable employment legislation and any relevant collective agreements.
  • Act as the main HR point of contact for employees within the Engineering department, providing guidance and support on HR-related queries.
  • Keep departmental and HR management informed of employee concerns, engagement opportunities and potential initiatives to improve motivation and employee experience.
  • Coordinate training needs assessments and support the implementation of learning and development initiatives for Engineering employees.
  • Provide support in relation to employee welfare matters where appropriate.
  • Assist with the coordination and administration of the performance management process.
  • Coordinate team-building initiatives, employee activities and departmental events.
  • Support management and the wider HR team in handling disciplinary matters.
  • Ensure employee information and records held across relevant internal and external HR systems are accurate, complete and maintained in line with internal procedures.
  • Prepare weekly, bi-weekly and monthly HR reports as required.
  • Support additional HR projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
  • Carry out any other duties related to the position as may reasonably be required according to the needs of the business.

Education & Qualifications

  • Ideally educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of employment law will be considered an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of Spanish is necessary and/or knowledge of Maltese will be considered advantageous.

  • A minimum of two years' experience within an HR role.
